Multilingual Learner / ESL Consultant

Remote & On-Site | Per Diem Contract Position

This role is ideal for experienced ESL educators or instructional leaders who enjoy systems-level work and partnering with districts to build sustainable practices for multilingual learners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality on-site coaching and professional development for ESL teachers, classroom teachers, interventionists, and instructional leaders
  • Support districts in aligning language development and literacy instruction for multilingual learners across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3
  • Analyze and apply universal screening and language proficiency data (e.g., WIDA ACCESS, SOLOM, DIBELS/Acadience, i-Ready, LinkIt!, etc.) to inform instructional planning
  • Facilitate collaborative data meetings, support intervention planning, and build educator capacity in data-informed decision-making
  • Partner with district and school teams to strengthen MTSS/NJTSS implementation with attention to the unique needs of multilingual learners
  • Align coaching and instructional support to research-based frameworks and district/state priorities
 
Required Qualifications
  • ESL certification/endorsement required
  • Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience, including experience working with multilingual learners
  • Master’s degree in ESL, Literacy, Reading, or a closely related field
  • Deep knowledge of additional language acquisition, language development, structured literacy, and evidence-based intervention practices
  • Strong expertise in interpreting literacy and language data and guiding educators in data triangulation
  • Solid understanding of MTSS implementation and intervention design across all tiers, including ESL-specific considerations
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills when working with adult learners
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client districts as needed
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an ESL coach, literacy coach, reading specialist, or instructional leader
  • Experience designing and delivering professional development at the school or district level
  • Background in supporting data meeting structures, intervention planning, and progress monitoring systems
  • Flexibility to support multiple districts and diverse educational communities
  • Familiarity with core literacy programs aligned to the science of reading (e.g., Fundations, Heggerty) and best practices for multilingual learners in implementation
  • Training in Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, IMSE, or similar structured literacy frameworks, with demonstrated ability to apply them with multilingual learners

Magnolia Consulting Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Literacy Consultant to join our growing team on a contracted/per diem basis. This role focuses on supporting school districts in implementing evidence-based literacy practices aligned to the science of reading, MTSS frameworks, and data-informed instruction.

We are looking for a consultant who brings both deep instructional expertise and the coaching acumen needed to foster lasting improvements in literacy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Consultant with specialized knowledge in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and the development and implementation of comprehensive behavior systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educational and organizational teams to enhance behavioral outcomes and support systems at all levels. This role involves direct consultation, training, and the development of strategies to promote positive behavioral interventions and supports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consultation and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with school staff, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop and implement MTSS frameworks.
    • Provide expert consultation on behavioral assessments, interventions, and supports across multiple tiers of the MTSS model.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement effective behavior systems.
  • Behavior System Development:
    • Develop and refine behavior intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to individual needs.
    • Create data-driven strategies for behavior management and positive behavioral support.
    • Ensure the integration of evidence-based practices within the behavior systems.
  • Training and Professional Development:
    • Conduct training sessions for staff on MTSS, behavior management techniques, and data collection methods.
    • Mentor and support staff in the implementation of behavior interventions and MTSS strategies.
    • Develop resources and materials to support ongoing professional development.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis:
    • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and other relevant evaluations.
    • Analyze data to monitor the effectiveness of interventions and behavior systems.
    • Provide detailed reports and recommendations based on assessment findings.
  • Compliance and Best Practices:
    • Ensure all interventions and systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education and Certification:
    • Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a BCBA, with a focus on MTSS and behavior system development.
    • Proven experience in educational settings or with diverse populations is highly desirable.
